HEART Coalition of Stanislaus County
In 1999, the HEART Coalition was developed to combat and reduce cardiovascular disease as Stanislaus County has consistently been ranked one of the top counties with the most deaths due to coronary heart disease.
Coalition members, made up of over twenty partners from the community, including area hospitals, health care providers, health plans, education, community based organizations, local businesses and concerned residents work together to support the mission of the HEART Coalition. There are approximately 40 members total.
For the past couple of years, the Coalition has been focusing its work on worksite wellness, childhood obesity prevention, and increasing public awareness.
To reduce cardiovascular disease risk factors to improve the health status and quality of life of the residents of Stanislaus County by:
- Increasing public awareness
- Promoting healthy heart prevention education
- Coordinating and direction accessible community resources.
